I have worked in the field of English Language Teaching for over 20 years in a variety of roles. In 2010 I was delighted to return to Turkey and to full-time classroom teaching, following several years working as a manager of ESOL and Teacher Education departments in an English Further Education college.
I now work at Sabancı University in Istanbul as a teacher, part of the Professional Development team and a member of a team developing PBL for our curriculum. I also present at ELT conferences and deliver Professional Development sessions in Turkish universities.
I gained my MA in Educational Technology & TESOL from the University of Manchester and was awarded the Platt Prize for Overall Excellence in MA Studies..
At the moment I am particularly interested in the principled and normalised use of technology in English Language Teaching – an area that is fundamental to Project Based Learning. This blog is predominantly aimed at ELT in the Turkish Context focussing on PBL and any other matters that catch my interest.
